Constipation
Let’s be honest. How many times have you felt like this? The truth is, constipation is more common than you realize, but it doesn’t have to be this way.
There are plenty of colon cleansing and laxative products on the market. How do they work?
There are 3 basic ways these products work.
- They draw water into the colon to hydrate the feces;
- they stimulate muscle action of the colon, sometimes through irritation; or,
- they add fiber to make the stool retain water, creating more of a slippery consistency.
Many of the herbal supplements combine psyllium (fiber) with cascara sagrada (irritant). For some people, this combination works great, while for others, not at all. The problem with this type of cleanser is that it can be like trying to drive your car with the parking brake on. Most people’s colons are so congested that fiber tends to further congest, while the irritant loses its ability to rev exhausted muscles into action.
CALO™ with its proprietary blend of Cape Aloe Leaf, fennel seed, ginger root, and cayenne pepper, is unique because it has the properties of fiber, and it stimulates cramping, but soothes and cleans like aloe vera. Cape aloe is native to South Africa, is non-toxic, and has no undesirable side effects. It acts as a cleansing, detoxifying agent for the digestive tract, including the cecum, and has more vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and polysaccharides than the American aloe vera plant.
